Great Day In The Lord Everyone,
Christmas is over and now we really start focusing on the new year. It has indeed been an interesting past 12 months and has been an extremely Blessed past 12 months...
Now many of you may be saying, what do, you mean Bro. Jerry, these past 12 months for me have had sorrow and pain, some good some bad, but I really would never be able to call this past year extremely Blessed...
I want to us all to realize that all things are possible through God. He is in control and if we are a Child of His, He never leaves or forsakes us,
We just have to believe.
21Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?"
"From childhood," he answered. 22"It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us."
23" 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."
24Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"
The past 2 weeks I have seen this Scripture and shared at Triple Crown how powerful these few verses are, and I had the pleasure of hearing my Pastor preach on these verses in away last night that changed my very thought process.
When this man never saw relief for his son... When he had tried everything that he knew to do... He had even tried to bring this young man to the disciples and when he saw that even they could not help, I am sure that he felt like he had exhausted all that there was to do to help his son to overcome this affliction. I am sure that this man, if he could would take this affliction from that young boy and lived with it himself in an effort to relieve his son... But he could not.
in verse 22 and 23, totally dejected from all of his failing efforts he approaches Jesus and says But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." and Jesus replies, 23" 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."
Now you may think that this is a show of weakness on this man’s part...
I believe that this man has unbelievable Faith. This man was never willing to quit. He was going to try and try again. And he knew to come to Jesus. So many times we see all of the valleys in our lives and we struggle with our faith. And when I say WE I mean Christians. We see His blessings and we see Him move so many times in our lives and yet when we get to a point of difficulty, we start struggling with our faith. And unfortunately we many times don't ever bring it to Jesus.
We need to realize that He is there with you, but more importantly He is in control and when we doubt, don't hide our face, He already knows we are doubting and struggling anyway. Just do what this man did...
24Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"
Always know that everything going on in your life...God is in control.
Say Lord, I'm scared...But I believe...Help me with my unbelief.
Say Lord, I don't know what to do...But I believe...Help me with my unbelief.
Say Lord, I can't...but I believe you can...Help me with my unbelief.
